One of the most obvious and recognizable design elements is colour.

Colour can be used for very literal descriptions (Stop Sign, Go, Caution, etc.) and it can be subversive (favourite colours, memories, emotions, etc.).

Colours, and how we use them, are also not a simple process. There are many aspects to consider – things like the type of work we are doing, the intention and audience, and even copyright law, just to name a few.
