Excel is one of the most underrated pieces of software. Much of the way we consume information (shopping apps, sports stats, banking information, etc.) all have strong roots in using programs like Excel called spreadsheets. 

If you are into sports games, much of the data that is presented in team or dynasty modes are organized and displayed using spreadsheet models.

For hockey fans, the website CapFriendly was a useful tool for planning and forecasting your favourite team’s salaries and line ups. Recently, the Ottawa Senators revealed their own version called Sens Contract Central.


The Assignment

In our first dip into Excel, we will be re-creating the final standings of the MLB American League.
