In Term 3 we will jumping in to Swift programming.
Swift is Apple’s own language and is used to power everything from computers, laptops, iPads, iPhones, Apple Watches, AppleTV, etc.
It’s a very visual and simplified language, but still has the complexity of other languages like Python, Ruby, etc.
This first portion will focus on basic principles; similar to the ideas presented in our Python section (see if you can find the similarities).
Accessing the files will be different from our previous units, so make sure to follow these steps, otherwise nothing will work.
Please make sure your are working at one of the following stations: 3, 5, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28. You will need to return to that exact station for each class for the duration of this unit.
  1. Download this folder: SwiftBasics
  2. Move the file from your Downloads to STUDENT-DATA in your Locations Library. Rename the file with your name.
  3. Open the folder in the STUDENT-DATA partition, and start from the first folder. Each folder will have a file with .playground and Review Questions PDF. You will need go through the .playground file and then the Review Questions, as part of your documentation.
Please remember that any work you do with Xcode will need to be done through the STUDENT-DATA partition. There may be instances where an Admin name and password is needed, just let me know if this pops up.
